If you are looking for cuteness and sweetness all in one small package, meet Hera, an 8 year old, 8 lb. bundle of snuggles.  Someone had her as a pet one time but let her run and never claimed her in animal control.  The best part of her life is about to begin!  She is doing well in a foster home and gets along with the other dogs and cat.

Homeward Bound Pet Of The Week: Cheeky and Carlie.

Meet Mom, Cheeky, the beautiful 7-year-old fawn-colored chi who weighs 8 lbs, and her daughter, Carlie, a 3-year-old rat/chi who weighs 12lbs.

These girls were an owner surrender at animal control due to the owner no longer able to care for them.  They are sweet little girls who love human attention, seem to be house trained, and enjoy walking on a leash.

Pet Of The Week: Loki

This Week, We are joined by Loki! Loki is a super good dog! He is a little nervous but loves to play. Loki is also an escape artist and has been known to climb a chain-length fence. Loki is all muscle and extremely athletic! He is a year and a half old and is completely ready to go to his forever home. He is okay with other dogs and would be a great fit for a family that has an active lifestyle. If you’re interested in any of the dogs in the Humane Society Contact them today!

Play ball……anyone?  Someone?  Tobias, Mr. Black Velvet himself, is a ball chasing, fetching, zoomies kind of guy.  It doesn’t matter the size or color of the ball.  It’s all a game for this almost 2 year old lab mix.  He also has a gentle snuggly side and loves to go walking on a leash.  Tobias is friendly to other dogs he knows.  As with any dog, a meet and greet with your pet(s) would be necessary to determine compatibility.

Meet Ivory, a 2-year-old, 30 lb. terrier mix who came to us as a shy puppy who didn’t want to come out to play.  It took a few weeks for her to trust people again.  Today, she is a fun-loving girl who can’t get enough.  She loves to walk on a leash and especially enjoys running and playing in the fenced area on the property.

Pixie is looking for a retirement home where she can enjoy life as any senior dog should be allowed to.  Pixie’s world was turned upside down a few weeks ago when her Mom passed away and the family brought her to an animal control facility.  She has been with HBPR for a couple weeks and is now totally vetted; including dental where she had 12 teeth removed, is on weight management and exercising her way to a healthy weight. Pixie is 11 years old.

Meet Lana, a 2 year old, 31 lb. border collie mix.  Lana is the kind of girl where everything is a game.  She loves to play with toys, run and chase balls and true to her breed; she wants to “herd” you.  At this time, she plays rough and would not be a suitable pet for small children.  As a working breed, a good placement would be on a farm, have a fenced yard and must be kept busy so she does not get bored.

If you are looking for someone to bring sunshine into your daily life, look no further!  We want you to meet Powder, a 22 lb., 14 month old Pom/Chi.  The smile you see here is the smile she greets everyone with!  Powder is a happy little girl despite 6 spinal discs being herniated and twice her ideal weight.  She is currently on a weight management program, exercises and physical therapy.  She is already showing signs of improvement.  Powder has a lot of puppy energy!  She has no idea there’s anything wrong!

Pet Of The Week: Titan And Lexi

This week, we are joined by Lexi and Titan! These puppies are almost 8 weeks old and are looking for a forever home. The Humane society believes these pups will be large dogs, so Rena takes some time to discuss the importance of only adopting these Puppies if you’re ready for a large dog. Homeward Bound Pet Of The Week: Huddy!

This 13 lb. chi/pug blend, Huddy, was turned into animal control from

a backyard breeder.

He is slow to warm up but once he does, he is a “velcro pup” and
becomes very loving. He prefers the company of women and is fearful of men.
Huddy has issues like resource guarding and a bit of a quirky personality. We are
asking that only experienced adopters apply and that Huddy be an only pet.
