Scoring Points: Congrats to the Fannin seniors

scoring points

#TeamFYNsports would like to take the time to congratulate the 2020 Seniors on the Fannin County football squad. The Rebels fell to the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricanes Friday night in the Elite Eight of the GHSA playoffs.

This team made it deeper into the playoffs than any other team in Fannin history besides the 1995 team. This team also won 2 playoff games, which made the programs total playoff wins double, going up to 4.

Offensively and Defensively they were also historic, allowing the least amount of points scored in program history, while also scoring more points.

I have had the pleasure of covering this team all year long, and the thing that has impressed me the most, more than all of the accolades and wins, is the way that these kids and coaches love each other. You hear about how football teams are supposed to be families all the time. However there’s no doubt in my mind this is the model that other teams should follow. They were down coming out if halftime in their first two playoff games this year, and instead of getting down or blaming each other or themselves, they built each other up and came together and advanced to the next round.

We would like to individually recognize every senior on this historic championship team.
