Meet Bijou – a tiny warrior with a heart of gold.

When Bijou first came to us, she was barely recognizable; hairless, pink and burning up from severe demodectic mange.

She was scared, in pain and had every reason to distrust the world. But this little fighter never gave up.

Over the last month, something magical happened.  With love, medical care and patience, Bijou began to heal.  Her soft fur is slowly coming back; patch by patch, like whispers of hope.  And her heart? It’s opening wider every day.  She’s learning that not all hands bring pain – some bring warmth, safety and gentle pets.

Homeward Bound Pet Rescue is located in Blue Ridge, Gilmer Co., Georgia. We are a volunteer run organization that was established in 2000 and have successfully found forever homes for thousands of unwanted cats and dogs..  We meet by appointment only.  Our pets are up to date on vaccinations, monthly preventatives, spayed and neutered (unless otherwise disclosed due to illness or age).   All available pet bios on our website.
