We had a great visit today with members of the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard, Stuart Hall (left) and W.S. “Cye” Miles!
The East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard is in need of volunteers.
The mission of East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard is to honor the military service of deceased Veterans. They serve our community by rendering Military Funeral Honors and to conduct flag ceremonies for schools, retirement homes, and other organizations within the community.

Stuart was born in Coeburn, VA and then raised in Knoxville, TN. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1963. Stuart served in the Air Force from 1966-1974 and worked as a Fighter Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems specialist. He served in Vietnam in 1968-1969 and then again in 1971. Stuart is the acting president of the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
Cye was born and raised in Blount County and attended Everett High School! He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1968-1972 and worked as a Machinist Mate! Cye served on the USCGC Sebago (WHEC-42). The Sebago was assigned to Coast Guard Squadron Three, Vietnam, serving in theater from March to November, 1969. She was assigned to support Operation Market Time, including the interdiction of enemy supplies heading south by water and naval gunfire support of units ashore.
