Clear the Shelters nationwide campaign starts Aug. 1

WHITE COUNTY, Ga. — Beginning on August 1st, individuals and communities around the country are coming together to find loving homes for pets in need with NBC Universal and Telemundo owned stations’ Clear the Shelters campaign.

White County Animal Control will be one of those participating organizations and we need your help. Will you join us?

By joining the ClearTheShelters movement, you’re proving that compassion, especially during these uncertain times, can make a world of difference in the lives of homeless pets.

Here is how you can help:

1. Give. Go to and donate. From August 1-August 31, $400,000 in matching funds will be made available, starting with $100,000 from August 1-8. You can also support our organization with these donations: Dog and Cat collars & leashes; Cat toys, cat litter, hand towels and wash towels. We are always in need of beds from Kuranda.

2. Follow. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter and invite your friends to do the same. . Spread the word. Encourage your friends and family to join you in creating real impact on August 1st, by sharing what our mission means to you and why you support our organization through your social media. Make sure to use hashtag #ClearTheShelters.
