Celebrate America’s birthday in Hiawassee and watch the annual 4th of July Boat Parade on Lake Chatuge on Saturday, July 2. Enjoy the rest of the day on this beautiful TVA lake.
Boaters line up behind the Grand Marshal (Aqua Tiki) for the parade beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the cove behind the new Young Harris Watersports marina. Please arrive by 10:15 a.m. Boaters do not have to line up according to their number. No wake and boats must fly a U.S. flag. Additional patriotic decorations are encouraged because there will be two prizes awarded for anyone who pre-registers – Most Creative and Most Red, White & Blue. Winners receive $50 each. Boaters who would like to participate without registering are welcome to join us but will not be judged for the prize money.. All boats who want to register and receive a number for a chance to win the prizes can come by the Lake Chatuge Chamber of Commerce, 1411 Jack Dayton Circle, Young Harris, GA 30582, Monday – Friday from 8:30 – 4:30. We will accept registration up until July 1 at 12 noon. We will not accept registrations on the day of the parade.
