HOMEWARD BOUND PET RESCUE’S PET OF WEEK

At just over a year old, Couri has already overcome more than any dog ever should.

She came to Homeward Bound from a hoarding situation where love, comfort, and security were things she had never known. Couri did not see people as a source of comfort; they were something she simply didn’t understand.

In foster care, she has gained more confidence and is still learning that touch can be gentle and hands can be kind.  While she isn’t quite ready to seek out affection, she no longer flinches when someone reaches toward her; a milestone that may seem small, but for couri, it is huge. She enjoys group doggy play but is never the one to initiate.

She enjoys the company of other small dogs; would do well with kids over 12.  She now knows how to walk on a leash and is house trained.

Homeward Bound Pet Rescue is located in Blue Ridge, Gilmer Co., Georgia. We are a volunteer run organization that was established in 2000 and have successfully found forever homes for thousands of unwanted cats and dogs..  We meet by appointment only.  Our pets are up to date on vaccinations, monthly preventatives, spayed and neutered (unless otherwise disclosed due to illness or age).   All available pet bios on our website.
