July 2, 2025 is Fannin County Firefly Day!
Georgia is home to 50 species of fireflies.
Fannin County recognizes the value and beauty of these natural resources and are dedicated to protecting fireflies and their habitat by limiting artificial outdoor night lighting and creating firefly habitat.
All businesses, community members and visitors are encouraged to make a special effort to celebrate and enjoy these insects and to continue measures to protect them.
On Firefly Day
Every child that comes in to the downtown Blue Ridge Visitor Center, 282 West Main St., or Fannin County Chamber of Commerce, 152 Orvin Lance Dr., Ste. A will receive a fun, firefly-themed gift!
