INSPIRATION: My inspiration comes from scripture, God’s creation, my family, ie., sons and their families. I stand on the shoulders of such spiritual giants as Corrie TenBoom (The Hiding Place), Kay Arthur, Hanna Hurnard (Hinds’ Feet in High Places), David Platt, Elisabeth Elliott and others. Their  lives were like the trees of righteousness spoken of in Is. 61:3.

Much of the inspiration from this book came from my former teacher James

Anchored: Closing Life-Challenge is available at The LIghthouse Christian Bookstore in Calhoun or online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Everette Weeks, native of Ellijay, Gilmer County. After their retirement, they came to Gordon County on a mission, for one year—to teach. Their mission was me. After 50 years, I still quote him.

SYNOPSIS: A frail elderly African-American preacher, Gideon, and his wife Purah, lead their caucasian crew, called the Oaks, on an adventurous challenge that includes themes of adoption, a cold-case murder mystery, whitewashing and grafting, forgiveness of others, and is all set in a southern Appalachian Riverworld in the 1990’s.

HOBBIES: I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Shorter University in Church music. I propagate African Violets, and volunteer. I was full-time volunteer director of a local Crisis Pregnancy Counseling center. After retirement as Executive Director in Senior Living, I volunteered in the Chemo infusion center-until Covid hit. I provide consulting in Senior Living.

ADVICE FOR THOSE THINKING ABOUT WRITING: For those thinking of writing-do it. You will be pleasantly surprised what comes out of you.
