For years locals have lamented over the unused space of the old Talking Rock Elementary School, but lament no more! It’s a metamorphosis that’s exciting for our community to watch as it unfolds. The old school is slowly turning into the newest local flea market. You may remember the old school a certain way, but as you walk the old halls and schoolyard, be prepared to experience its new charm in the shape of the Sweet Georgia Roots Market.
While this isn’t the first attempt at having the space used, this is easily the first time it’s transformed into something as aesthetically unique and exciting in its own right. The vision for the end result of the flea market is apparent as soon as you enter.
Once you walk the old corridors and the exterior of the Sweet Georgia Roots Market, you can’t help but feel the love and pride going into transforming the property. Take the grand wooden doors gracing the hallways, for instance. The beautifully carved doors give new life to the hallway.

While Sweet Georgia Roots Market has been opening its doors for a while now for community flea markets and yard sales, there’s one event to write on your calendars that you don’t want to miss.
Enjoy local vendors, live music, food, and community the way it’s meant to be enjoyed – together at a flea market! Vendors and buyers from all over will be pouring in for the event, but don’t worry! There’s plenty of parking.
Are you a vendor and interested in a booth? Monday is the last day to reserve a spot! Fill out your application here.
Hope to see you there!
